Classes

 

Classes for instruments and voice begin on July 18 and are held every morning untill lunch break. During the entire course, each participant takes part in individual 60-minute lessons with a dedicated lecturer. Time after lunch break is devoted to work in chamber groups of 3 to 7 people and individual study. Szymon Bywalec, conductor, will be responsible for the work of chamber groups, and all the lecturers will assist.

Assignment to chamber ensembles will be based on application forms filled in by applicants. Additional materials proving the applicant’s skills and experience of in the field of new music, including their own recordings will facilitate the process of assigning them to groups and selecting the appropriate repertoire.

The courses are open to anyone interested in learning and deepening their knowledge of issues related to the performance of advanced forms of music of the 20th and 21st centuries – both young musicians already having certain skills as well as people with less experience in this field will receive training programs appropriate to their needs and expectations.

Classes as part of the Band Academy (July 23 to 27) comprise of section rehearsals, contemporary music ensemble practice under the supervision of Szymon Bywalec. Band Academy course participants will prepare performances of outstanding pieces of music from recent decades to be performed at a final concert towards the end of the Courses

Sheet music, which will be the basis for individual and team work, will be provided to participants in advance. Participants can submit their own suggestions for compositions they would like to work on during the classes.

Anyone aged 16 or over can participate in the courses. In the case of minors, a written consent of their parents or guardians is required.

Outstanding performances will be presented during public concerts.
