Workshops devoted to Roman Haubenstock-Ramati's graphic scores

October 22-25, 2012

Bronislaw Geremek Social High School No. 7 in Warsaw

As part of the workshop, students learned about the unusual way of notating music in the form of graphic scores, which was created by, among others, by Polish-Austrian composer Roman Haubenstock-Ramati. Suggested by the color, shape of signs and their arrangement and density, the students prepared their own interpretations of selected music graphics. The material for the composition was sounds played on unconventional musical instruments, prepared by the workshop leaders, and audio recordings of these sounds. The results of the workshops were presented at the final concert, next to interpretations performed by professional musicians.
