New pieces by Sławomir Wojciechowski and Aleksandra Słyż, each in its own way, expand the possibilities hidden in the traditional combination of violin and piano. The evening will also be an opportunity to meet the composers and present the original concepts underlying both premieres.
Elastic Fictions by Sławomir Wojciechowski is intended for violin, piano, Korg synthesizer with vocoder and computer with MaxMSP program. The composer uses the unlimited possibilities of creating sound idioms and meanings of the interactive system created by the violin, piano, synthesizer, computer, microphones and loudspeakers.
Seven Figures by Aleksandra Słyż for violin, piano/piano and electronics explores the relationship between intonation and microtonality. The piano used in this piece will be precisely tuned in the system developed by the American composer La Monte Young in his famous The Well-Tuned Piano.
